It was important to me to start the course in late spring so that I could make quick progress during the gap year I am currently taking. Shanghai was a natural choice as it is one of Chinas most vibrant cities with a vibrant cultural infrastructure.

Program Description
Target:
Standard Chinese Language Program (Enrollment in April) is designed for students who plan to enroll in April. Students will be placed into classes of different levels of the Standard Chinese Language Program based on placement test results. The curriculum and weekly class schedule are the same as the Standard Chinese Language Program except for the enrollment date.
Program Duration:
April 1st, 2026 – July 3rd, 2026. April 1st is the registration date. Classes start from April 6th, 2026 (if April 6th falls on the Qingming Festival holiday, classes will begin on April 7th).
*14 weeks in total (the registration week included). In case of Chinese public holidays and school activities, classes will be suspended.
*On February 25th, 2026, the school will notify students via email to complete a Chinese proficiency survey to determine whether their Chinese language skills are at a beginner level. Please ensure that student email addresses are accurate and valid.
Class Schedule:
Monday to Friday 8:30am-11:45am，4 class hours each session (45min=1 class hour), 20 class hours per week.
※ The schedules above are based on Beijing time.
Fees: Application fee 800 RMB; tuition fee 7500 RMB/semester
Textbooks: 40 Lessons for Basic Chinese, Development Chinese, China Focus etc.
